This Vancouver brewery itinerary is definitely a walking tour.

Vancouver, British Columbia has several microbreweries. If you pace yourself, you can enjoy many of them in one day.



11:00 a.m.

Granville Island Brewery

Granville Island Brewery

From the downtown core, make your way to the foot of Hornby Street (south).

Catch the Aquabus across to Granville Island. (fare: $2.50)

When you arrive on Granville Island, walk past Bridges and the Public Market. Turn right. Walk to the end of Duranleau Street. It’s also the entrance to Granville Island. Granville Island Brewery is on your left.

Did you know? Granville Island Brewery, established in 1984, was the first microbrewery in Canada?


11:30 a.m.

 
Arrive at Granville Island Brewery.

Their first brewery tour and tasting begins at 12 noon. Cost:$9.75


2:00 p.m.

 
Return across with the Aquabus. This time, catch it to Yaletown. The Aquabus leaves every 15 minutes to Yaletown.

2:30 p.m.

Arrive at Yaletown. Walk up Davie two blocks to Mainland. Turn right. Walk to 1111 Mainland - Yaletown Brewing Company. Enjoy the brews. Depending on your arrival time, you may also catch a brewery tour.

4:30 p.m.

 
t's time for some fresh air. Turn left and walk up Mainland to Nelson. Turn left. Walk two blocks to Richards. Turn right. Continue walking down Richards (north) until it ends at Cordova (about eight blocks.) Across the street is Steamworks Brewing Company

Steamworks offers a range of beer made on-site, as well as an oyster bar.

6:30 p.m.

 
Walk across the parking lot to the SeaBus Terminal.

Get a ticket for the SeaBus then follow the signs to the boats.

The SeaBus takes 15 minutes to cross to North Vancouver.


7:00 p.m.

 
When you arrive in North Vancouver, follow the crowd out of the terminal. Turn left and walk half a block to Chesterfield. Turn right. Follow Chesterfield up two blocks to West Esplanade. Turn left. Walk one block to Semisch Avenue.

7:15 p.m.

Sailor Hagar’s Brew Pub

This is the area’s oldest brew pub. And if you’re looking for a change of beverage, it also has one of the city’s largest selections of single-malt scotches. As it’s time for a substantial meal, enjoy their steak selection and the sweeping views of the city.

Return to the Lonsdale Quay SeaBus Terminal. Take the SeaBus back to Vancouver .

10:45 p.m.

 
Exit the SeaBus Terminal to Cordova Street. Catch a cab back to your hotel.
