Vancouver itineraries
Urban fare - Downtown
arts and culture

Is your idea of a perfect day spent shopping for gorgeous items, then discussing them over a delectable dinner? Then this Vancouver itinerary is for you. Whether it’s shopping on Vancouver’s trendy Robson Street or looking for unique items on Granville Street, this is one of the best ways to enjoy the best of Vancouver shopping and some of the hippest places to dine.

10:00 a.m.

Armed with your credit card and your coffee, hit the street.

Robson Street is any serious shopper’s first port of call.

It stretches from Granville Street to the heart of the West End, for five blocks of serious consumption.

1:00 p.m.

Joe Fortes
777 Thurlow St.
at Robson 604-669-1940
Ready for lunch? Try Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House. Go to the corner of Thurlow and Robson (the corner with the dueling Starbucks). Turn towards Canada Place (north). Joe Fortes is between Robson and Alberni.

When you've explored all the Robson Street has to offer, and are looking for some high-end shopping, consider the Sinclair Centre.

2:30 p.m.

Leone faces
Hastings Street.
604-683-1133
Looking for high-end designer clothing? Then get thee to Leone.

Leave Joe Fortes and turn left. Walk down Thurlow to Hastings Street (four blocks.) Turn right. Continue along Hastings until you reach 757 W. Hastings. Here you’ll find four heritage buildings connected by a glass roof.

It’s filled with room after room of designer clothing for men and women.

4:00 p.m.

Holt Renfrew
Pacific Centre
700 West Georgia
604-681-3121
Walk up Granville Street to Georgia. Turn right. You're about to enter Holt Renfrew. Note that this department store is part of Pacific Centre, so it has many points of entry.
Holt Renfrew is Canada's high-end department store. From clothing to accessories, if you want it, Holt's probably has it.

6:00 p.m.

Granville Room
957 Granville Street 604-633-0056
If you're done shopping and want a pre-dinner drink, consider the Granville Room. Leave Holt Renfrew on Georgia Street. Turn right and walk three blocks.
After a drink return to your room to get ready to enjoy the city's fine fare. Remember to call ahead for reservations at the C Restaurant.

8:00 p.m.

C Restaurant
1600 Howe St
604-681-1164
Located at the foot of Howe Street on the Downtown side of the False Creek Seawall, this water view restaurant is understandably all about seafood.

10:00 p.m.

The Lift Bar
333 Menchions Mews,
off Bayshore Dr
604-689-LIFT (5438)
If you still have some life in you, grab a cab to The Lift for an after-dinner drink. The Lift, located in Coal Harbour, will give you a view of the other side of the city's waterway, Stanley Park and the North Shore Mountains.
