Drive to Sooke.
Leaving Victoria, travel north on the Trans Canada Highway to the View Royal / Colwood exit (Exit 10). Turn onto this exit and follow the Sooke signposts to Highway 14 (Sooke Road), about 40 kilometres (24 miles).
The village of Sooke offers a peaceful escape.
11:30 a.m.
Drive to the end of Sooke River Road off Highway 14 to find the Sooke Potholes Provincial Park. This area has several potholes carved out of sandstone.
Grab your lunch, your walking shoes and start exploring.
In the summer, these natural pools along the Sooke River are a favourite spot.
Then in the fall, you can see salmon swimming upstream to spawn.
3:00 p.m.
Travel to Galloping Goose Regional Trail. This old railway track runs all the way to Victoria. Wander along it to explore the surroundings.

Continue through the town of Sooke to Point No Point.
Wander through the gorgeous surroundings. Take in the spectacular panorama view of the Straight of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains.
